I have totally destroyed my Balance II : it fell off my jacket pocket on a hard floor and the body exploded into pieces (small ones) - the cap wasn't too badly hurt. The plastic was very brittle and I can't even imagine to glue it back.

The shame is that it took me a while to have the nib writing to my taste but it became of of my fav' writer. I just don't want to discard this nib.

So, if any of you have a Balance II you would like to part with, or if you even have just the body, I am open to any offer

Thanks for your help

I have a Balance II in Amber Glow. It's one of the special edition colors and really beautiful if you've never seen it (or even if you have... unsure.gif ). However, it is the rollerball version. You can use the fountain pen section, but you would be limited to using cartridges. The converter won't fit. At least it won't unless you remove the spring that holds the refill in place. I haven't tried that. Let me know if you're interested.

Hi,

From memory the old style squeeze converters also fit and are still available.

Amber Glow is a nice colour, if you leave the spring in you have the choice of RB or FP.

There is one going on the Bay right now ( extra nib will come handy). Hope you get to read this before it ends.

Hum... I may be able to still help you out: as it did not seem you could see it before ending I bid and won it. It can be easily reshipped at cost to you if interested, and given the Euro-$ parity still would be a decent deal. If not interested no problem either, the pen is worth it. Contact me by PM. smile.gif De rien.

Sheaffer-UK gave me a cobalt blue Balance II cap and then a jade green cap and body*, because the original cap and then the first replacement cap cracked, as Balance IIs often do. (They are very vulnerable pens, prone to horizontal splits.) So, perhaps you should contact Sheaffer-France or, indeed, Sheaffer-UK.

(*They gave me both a jade green cap and body the second time because, when the first cobalt blue replacement cap cracked, they had no more of the same colour. Apparently, American stocks are low, too.)

Full pen on the way to here and then to France.......for the mere costs of the price paid on the Bay plus reshipping. (In case any one was wondering). I've been helped out so many times at this forum that is a very humble way to return the favor. A pleasure.

Thanks to all for your help.

I made a deal with Ondina who offered me a deal I couldn't refuse.

I'm really sorry not buying pens to others, but I had to make a difficult choice (at least my bank account demanded me to make a choice)

I was truly impressed by the reactivity and friendliness of people here.

Merci à tous happyberet.gif

Cheers from Paris
