FS: Lamy 2000 fountan pen with a hard to find mk (rounded) 14k nib. I purchased this pen new, and have had this pen for approximately six weeks. It is too light for me. It comes with the box. It is in like-new condition, with no marks on it. I will throw in a bottle of Waterman ink. I am asking $85.00 shipped CONUS. I accept checks or money orders, but not Paypal.

Thanks for looking,
Jerry

Color me ignorant, but what is a mk nib? When I think of a "rounded nib" I think of either a stub nib... or a regular writing nib, which is round. Am I pretty far off?
JerryVK
This pen is now sold pending receipt of payment.

An "mk" (rounded) nib is designed for left-handed writers who may hold the pen at greater angles then right-handed writers. Thus, there is, theoretically, more writing surface and less of a "sweet spot" for the nib.

Jerry-----So did you, as a left handed writer, find that the nib was more tolerant than many of these various angles? I am curious if you think the MK nib was successful at accomplishing what it was designed to do.

Is it like a rounded oblique? Do they (nibmeisters) make a right-handed cut mk as well?
JerryVK
I am a left-handed underwriter. The "mk" nib wrote much better for me than a fine nib. However, I am spoiled by my Sailor 1911 medium nib. So, with the light weight of the Lamy 2000, and the nib still not having quite the feel that I had hoped for, I decided to sell it. I would expect that most people would be very satisfied with this nib. My writing angle and speed of writing may have something to do with my dissatisfaction.

MK is a ball nib, IIRC
