Was out shopping and found a store selling Parker & Watrman pens and noticed a different shapped bottle that says Penman on it. Here is my review of the ink.

Purchase price was $7.71 so it was good price to others. Asked for colors and it came but in black which is what I talk about.

The ink is a solid black without trace of purple or blue when wetted it shows dark purple but very little but the edges.

It writes a smooth line with no fethering on regular paper and holds the eye as I can not see any shadeing of the ink when put down with a fine nib.

I do not have many experience with other producer's black inks but I feel that with this one I can continue using without hesitation.

I would suggest this black ink to anyone who likes this color and wishes to have a very dark ink.

My picture is of the bottles and is different from the link you showed. It says made by Parker Pen company.

Parker has been putting this ink in the True Blue LE that they recently issued. I guess they will make a another try at the Penman series of inks. I hope they can duplicate the Sapphire Blue in this new production!

Mel of eBay store melpens has been selling Parker Penman Black, in the new oval penman bottle (but still with the inkwell in the neck - yay!!). This may be a renamed version of the same ink. The bottles I bought (3 for $20) are made in the new Parker Shanghai factory. The ink has the same kitchen chromatograph pattern as the original Penman Ebony, but flows a little more easily.

Even though Penman seems to have been resurrected about a year and a half ago, I haven't seen it for purchase. I may not be looking in the right place.

Oh. Close to the factory, then, or Malaysia for Melspens. Let's see how long it'll take 'til Parker US decides to carry it. This is such a FP backwater sometimes...

Thank you for the reviews, Tangelfoot and HyperCamper.
