I've been reading this forum for about a year, and finally decided I should introduce myself (actually, I had a question to ask on the forum, and though I should introduce myself, first.

). So...Hi! I'm Winnie.
I am a college student, and use a fountain pen almost exclusively-especially to take notes in class. I had first developed an interest in fountain pens it was because I was looking for an archival-quality ink. To go along with the ink, I got a Lamy Safari. Not bad, and I used it occasionally, but I wasn't a convert. I used the fountain pen a little more often after I discovered Noodler's Bulletproof inks, but I still took notes with a gel pen. A few years ago, the neighbor's dog chewed up my Lamy (don't ask), and I decided to upgrade to a Pelikan m150. Once I got the Pelikan, I discovered that writing with it was much more comfortable than the gel pens I had been using to take notes with. Not only did I start using my new pen almost exclusively, I also started writing a lot more.

Hello and Welcome to FPN!!!!!
I used fountain pens in school in India, and then moved to the US to attend college at the Univ of Michigan. Where I promptly saw what my classmates were using, and I began to write with mechanical pencils and el-cheapo ballpoint pens exclusively. Then, during my JR year, I saw myHistory prof write with a vintage Parker Duofold. I asked to try it one day when Iwas at his office. he let me try it out,and I was hooked again. So he helped me get a used modern Parker Duofold Centennial with a medium nib, and I was well onm y way to becoming a pen-geek!!!
