Full Version: Repair Equipment in Japan?

I have a friend who makes a living eBaying costume jewelry, and I asked her to keep an eye out for bargain-basement FPs on her rounds of antiquing and yard/estate sale-ing. She seems to have taken the bit in her mouth as it were, and is ready to send me a mess of pens, and probably some very messy pens, as well. I was thinking of learning to repair (read: tinker with) FPs as a more long term project, but she's really run with it.

Thing is, I'm not likely to find any FP repair tools or supplies here in Grenada. I'm going to Japan next week, so I was wondering if anyone knows of any places to pick up such things there. I'll be in Tokyo, Nagoya, and Osaka, specifically.

We're staying with friends in NYC overnight on both the outgoing and return (in 3+ weeks) legs of the trip, so my other option is to order things from US suppliers and have them sent to their address.

Any ideas?

I've read a handful of repair-newbie posts, so I'm getting an idea of what I might need, but more advice is always appreciated.

Thanks,

Breck

I think you are probably better off ordering supplies from the U.S. I don't think nearly as many people do vintage pen repair, and I highly doubt that repair supplies are available commercially.

I think you're probably right, at that. I'll be staying at an APO address as home base while I'm there, I guess I could just have it shipped there, even.
