Full Version: what's wrong with parker service nowaday?

I think most of you have known that original parker company in UK has been moved to France now.

Several weeks ago, I bought a brand new Duofold fountain pen and I needed to change the nib, after contacted with their service via the email (list on their offical website), I got a reply, that i needed to sent it to Lichfiled UK. (beofore it was Newhaven Sussex).

Then, I just sent my pen and warranty to the address it mentioned, 3 days later, I made a phone call to ask if they had received my stuff? They replied me, " yes we do, and we gonna send it to France for the warranty, you will receive your pen within only 2 weeks" ,then hung off.

so I waited and waited for it.

Two weeks have passed, still I have not got my pen, then I send my email again, and I do really can not believe I can get such a reply from their service:

"sorry, I have checked our database, we can not find your pen, did you send it in a record mail? if so, please go to the post office to have a check the signature"

Is it funny?

Luckily, I do use a record mail, I replied their email immediately and told them that you should have already received my pen 14 days before, again I supplied with my contact detail and the mail tracting number.


2 days passed, i got no reply.


So, today, I made a phone call again to their company, a lady who answered my call asked me," can you supply me your service reference number? you should have the reference number for your pen so I can check the status of your pen".

I told her that since I post my pen to your service and recieved your confirmation of receiving my pen 14 days before, no body had ever told me such number.

Then she again asked me to leave her my contact details and just asked me to wait again.

Ok, the above is my story of parker warranty recently, still, now i do not know where my pen is.


I remember last year, when parker company was in newhaven sussex, their service then is fast and convenient, the people will contact you the first time, and the pen usually will be back to you in less than 4 days if you are in UK, but now, it seems, everything has been changed. Compared with Mont Blanc after sale service, Parker this time made me feel disappointed.

I would encourgage you to write a formal letter of complaint and mail it to the Chariman of the Board of Directors at Newell Rubbermaid. This needs to be nipped in the bud.

It's a sad reminder of what the Parker Pen Company used to be when you hear news like this.
