Hi,
I used and was interested in Fountain Pens while growing up, I believe I had a shaffer model. All the years of keyboarding my penmanship really got horrible. I just can't seem to write will with ball points. I used my renewed interest in Fountain Pens to work on my penmanship. To my suprise I realized there is a whole community of users out there! I think this is great. I look foward to reading some of your posts.
Thanks,
Inventor (Abe)

Welcome Abe! Yes, there are quite a number of former ballpoint victims here. Fountain pens are just the thing to rehabilitate your penmanship from chronic ballpointitis and once you're hooked, there's no going back.

Hi Abe and welcome to FPN!

I was surprised at how many other fountain pen lovers there were out there until I got on the Internet! It's sad that I don't see many (well, hardly any

) fountain pen users in my neck of the woods. Oh well.... I too am glad that I found FPN

Hi,
I have not been here for some time, but thanks to all you made me feel welcome. This should be a great and fun hobby. And my penmanship has improved greatly since the last post!

welcome Abe
I started for much the same reasons you are, although my handwriting has not improved much

Hello!
Good luck with the handwriting - a pen that suits you and practising to get consistent letter height and width, with all the little fellows sitting neatly on the line, can make a big difference.

A fountain pen will help in improving your writing because you'll find yourself writing while sitting watching TV or while talking with your wife and you'll tire of how bad it looks and so you'll work at improving your hand. Welcome to FPN.

And the pride you feel as you realize that your penmanship is good and that, in some sense, it reflects the best of who you are, will increase markedly over time.
Welcome to FPN!
