Ahoy! While sitting waiting for something or somewhat, I absent mindedly recalled an image I saw here of a Lamy 2000 completely disassembled. One of the things is that the cap can be taken apart with the top watch-battery-sized button screwing/coming off. I ended up unscrewing it a tiny bit, but since I really didn't want to lose or break anything, I went to screw it back in, which I did until I no longer could, at least without using any sort of tool.
But I was left with the clip no longer being firmly stuck in the cap. It's still functional, the spring still sprungs, but there is a bit of vertical wobble now- I can press it straight up and down about a millimeter.
Like a tiny, but obvious scratch on a brand new car, it's driving me nuts. I'm one of those people who get driven nuts by the little things that deviate from perfection but have no issue with really huge problems... I feel it slide up and down every time I clip it onto my shirt, and I think I'm going batty in the process.
How do I fix this?
Thanks!

Hmmm curious to get an answer too, I do have the same problem. Mine smashed on the floor recently. At first it felt like the cap wouldn't come of easily but than it came of normally and I found out the clip could be moved up and down. Further everything alright.

Actually, I'm the one who posted the photos of the field-stripped photos and, funnily enough, I did the same thing to my L2K just yesterday! I didn't have any fancy tools with me, but I got it back on tight. Here's how:
1) stick the point of a woodcase pencil in (eraser end would give better friction/resistance, but it won't fit far enough - or mine wouldn't, anyway)
2) press hard against the brass bit that the cap screws into
3) tighten the end cap.
This worked for me. I was surprised, I thought I'd done something much worse and tougher to fix, but it was a snap!
Good luck,
Breck
