I stumbled across this site looking for information on a pen among a batch I was selling. Years ago I collected pens, but have since begun collecting vintage snare drums. I wanted to sell off a chunk of what I have to finance stuff that I wanted, so I established an account here yesterday, posted the ad, and got a lot of great responses ... and some new homes for some of my pens.

Then I started looking around here and am impressed with the body of knowledge. When I was culling out a new batch of pens to list last night I found myself setting some aside for personal use. Most of the pens need sacs, so I have a feeling I will be purchasing a handful of sacs and will probably keep a few of the treasures that less than a day ago I was so eager to sell.

This is one helluva site. Thanks to whoever runs it - and thanks to an impressive community of folks who make this place inviting for a newcomer.

I will have to say that collecting vintage snare drums is a new one to me................but then so was fountain pens about 12 years ago.

Welcome and I agree with lapis, keep a few of those pens. They are great things to have.

Vintage snare drums take up a lot more space than pens, that's for sure smile.gif I am sure I'll wind up with a few dozen pens held back ... in fact, I know it.

Pens are probably quieter, too. biggrin.gif

Talk about unintended consequences! I came here five weeks ago to sell off a collection of pens I had not touched in years. Now I am buying, using and collecting them again. This place is dangerous (in a good way!)
