Now I know that loyality to our favorite vendors is important but price
also enters into the equation for most of us. I've also seen a couple posts
where people wanted to try this paper but were put off by the price. Well,
here's your chance to try some and at what I think is the best price around.
(I have no interest with these people, just found them on-line and placed an
order today.)

The only downside is they don't have the color selection that some of the other
higher priced vendors do, they only have, Apricot, Blue, Ivory, White, Lavender,
and Pistachio.

But there IS a substantial price difference. The usual price for a pad of paper
and envelopes is $22 + shipping, Vickery only $13. For BOTH. $4.95 shipping
(to North Florida, USA)

If you can work with the lessor color choices, the price difference is hard to pass up.

That's where I get my VdF from - it is an excellent price. Been waiting for them to have stock of the Ivory - now that you've posted this, wonder if they'll run out again. tongue.gif smile.gif

I really enjoy this paper for the occasional "short" letter. It's an acquired taste, I think, since so many of us are always looking for the smoothest papers. But it takes FP ink so beautifully and the feedback can be quite a nice sensation.

Think I'll run over and get me some ivory right now!

I really wanted the gray but for 40% off what most of the other vendors charge
I was willing to settle for the blue, especially since I haven't used this paper before
and am trying it on the reccomendation of my pen restorer.

I couldn't resist and also got the large white pad with lavendar envelopes. I wanted Lavendar something but not really for writing on. So some folks will get long letters on this stuff. So the combination sounded cool.

I tend to write with very small lettering when I use this paper. To my vic...snailees, you may need to put on your reading glasses soon. smile.gif

Thanks for this heads up! I am trying some of the ivory + envelopes. I've been looking for stationery, and was going to go through the trouble of finding some strathmore somewhere, but for this price, I can take a chance. smile.gif

My pleasure! I'm a noob here and as one just getting back into FPs sometimes feel
that I have far less to offer here than I gain in knowledge. Sometimes a blind squirrel
finds a nut though and there is something I can toss in of some value.

As far as paper goes Vickerey has always been one of my favorite vendors, got my first non staple bound Rhodia notebooks from them wrapped and packaged beautifully. I have noticed their prices on Verge de France and once I lessen the number of empty notebooks I have would look to getting some in the future. Have to also support them because they are a local company out of Boulder!! Definitely a store to look into when considering your paper options!!

Received my order today (wow, that was quick!) and am pleased. The white VdF is not as white as I'd hoped. Lighter shade than the ivory but more of an eggshell shade. Still, very nice. I imagine it may have to do with the laid texture in part. Perhaps, by default, that texture decreases reflection and makes the paper look more off-white than white.

I am sorry that it is not what you want, but thanks for saying that. I was acutally hoping to get an off-white shade, but not necessarily ivory (I have that already). I may have to go place an order soon.
