hello,

i have an interest in yellow fountain pens. the only yellow Pelikan i am aware of is the Citroenpers limited edition M200. my question is, did Pelikan ever produce any other yellow fountain pens? specifically a black and yellow striated model of M400 or larger size?

Haven't seen any black and yellow striated Pelikan myself. If you push it the Sahara is sort of yellowish. There's a yellow Toledo tho; based loosely on the 800 size if I recall corretly. Very tempting - the pen that is, not the price.

No yellow striped Pelikan, AFAIK. Besides the Citroenpens M200 and the Toledo mentioned, the only other I can recall is the Kirin LE. http://www.chartpak.com/pelikan/kirin_story.html

Here's an all-yellow, old-style M600, which is the same size as the current M400. In my opinion, this is a much nicer looking pen than the Citroenpers M200, but the price is cost prohibitive for me.

oh wow...that is very close to what i want...but i agree, the cost is very high. too high for right now and the foreseeable future.

it looks like i may be best served by getting the Citroenpers or going for a normal red striated M400 or M600.

Hi:

I saw one in the web, don't remember where, some days ago, at Us$1,111.00, special edition of 400 or 600. Don't remember details, only the price.

yes, it is very nice. but the price is prohibitive!

one quick question: is the Citroenpers M200 compatible with the standard Pelikan nib units? i am looking to get a Richard Binder Pelikan specialty nib and want to be sure that it is plug and play.

The citroenpers is a standard M2xx pen so a Binder will fit.

This thread also made me think of custom bindes. I do not know of anyone currently doing them, but I think it has been discussed here before. I like to think in terms of an M-1000 with a black cap, black section and end cap, and a big yellow binde on the barrel. It would look like a super bumble bee and I would love to have one. M-1000 a "Mandarin-1000?" thumbup.gif

That would be a wonderful pen...some more M1000 models would be welcome... the black and black and green only makes the choice a bit limited. I would love a black/yellow M1000 roflmho.gif

wow that guy does incredible work. it looks like my decision may not be as certain!

it does add a decent bit onto the total cost of ownership, though i might almost be willing to do it if i could get my "holy grail" pen.

There was a tortoise (not the honey tortoise) that was dark brown and amber stripe. Maybe this is what you'd. want.

Best, Ann

Thre are no yellow Toledos which are still made today. Apart from the usual 700s and 900s in green (and gold or silver), there is only the red 910.
Ever looked at the current M320? Maybe it is too orangy for you.

Mike

There is a new yellow Toledo:

(no affil.)

Okay, I'll take my statement back. If Richard says (and illustrates) that a yellow 910 exists, I'll believe it. But I got a catalog recently from Hannover of all Pelikans "still made today" for here at home and for export too but no yellow Toledo was to be seen.

Mike
PS: But I do agree about 900% with Richard's statement: "This is a gorgeous hunk of penflesh!"
