I recently noticed that my Le Man 100 Harlequin has a serial number imprinted between the two cap bands: 04158. Does any Harlequin (or Opera) owner out there have a higher number? I'm wondering how many were produced in this edition. That is, presuming the serial number has a correlation to the actual quantity of pens produced.

Greetings Richard,

Until you made your post, I never noticed the number between the two cap bands. Oh well, time for new glasses or new eyes!

My number is quite a bit higher than yours at 47696. And here I thought these pens were had to find. I also have the Ideal Globe nib on my Opera. Out of curiosity, what type of nib is on your pen?

Peace,

Phroneo

Hi, Phroneo,

My Harlequin also came with the Ideal Globe nib; it was EF and wrote like a hat pin. I sent it to Greg Minuskin for retipping. It now writes a smooth fine line.

I checked my Exception Night & Day and discovered it also has a serial number: on the clip band opposite the clip. Mine is 07094. Perhaps these numbers are like the MB serial numbers and don't actually refer to the quantity of pens produced. I can't imagine there are 47696 examples of the Harlequin or Opera out there.

Best,
Richard

I was said and confirmed by Mr Mora as well as a representative of Waterman that the Harlequin and Opera version of the man 100 were special numbered edition of the Man 100. The Patricians were on the other side a limited special numbered edition.
