Full Version: Fine italic nib

Hi. My eye has been taken by a Wellington and was wondering if anybody has any experience with the fine italic nib? How smooth is it? Is it a wet writer and is suitable for a left hand underwriter like me?

Many thanks in advance and any other advice on the italic nibs would be a great help.

I've got an italic fine on one of my Dandys. I'm a lefthanded overwriter and with my writing you'd never guess it was an italic nib. It's quite a wide line, I wouldn't want a nib that was any wider and it's quite a wet writer as well. It's smooth, but obviously not quite as smooth as an ordinary CS nib. If you have a look at this ink review it was written with that pen. If I was choosing again I wouldn't opt for the fine italic. My other Dandy and Duro have fine nibs and my 58 has a medium nib (actually, that's the finest of the lot). If I was ever in a position to choose again I'd most likely try an extra fine.

Edited because I can't type!

Thanks for the tip Carrie. I am planning myself to get a CS soon. I'd go for an extra-fine
