What happened.... We had one real nice meeting and nothing heard of since....
I am getting lonely here in MD and need to show off some sweet pens......
FrankB
Tom, I was unaware the group even met. If someone tells me when and where, I will be there.
Zoe
I'm in NEPA (North Eastern PA) at the NYS line. Where do you meet?

Zoe
Rick Krantz
I'm in if anyone wants to meet....

I got a few neat items to show as well....

Tom, is your daughter going to be there this time? maybe I can bring my 6 year old.....
skinnyPens
I'm a noob, both to fountain pens and the area. But I'm in State College which is fairly central PA I believe. I'd be very interested in a regional meet-up, especially to talk with some of you pen-turner types.

Count me in!

First we have to find out when and where, then I can find out if my daughter is available... LOL
My daughter loves younger kids and I am sure they would have a good time....

Last time we met just outside Harrisburg.....
Not to bad a drive for me from Hagerstown MD....

I'll start a new topic for the summer 2008 meeting of the Central Penn Pens once we have the date chosen, which will be any of the next four Saturday afternoons through August 2. It can be later if someone else is willing to take on the organizing this time, since I am committed the remainder of the summer thereafter. Besides, it can't happen during the August 8-10 DC Pen Supershow.

PM me with any requests, suggestions or ideas for the gathering. Don't forget our ink swap. Have ink; Will travel.

How about a Sunday...

anyone want to meet up at Adamstown, for some vintage pen hunting?

could be fun... we got three large markets to choose from, Inside and outside, and multiple co-op antique stores...

sure we could find a mid day meeting spot.
FrankB
Is this Adamstown on Route 30, between Gettysburg and York? There used to be a German restaurant there called the Hofbrauhaus that had a "Stammtisch," a back room, that would be ideal for a small pen meeting. - A suggestion only.

Unfortunately, that does not work for me...
Due to my disability, I can't walk large markets like that anymore....

That is also over 2.5hrs from me...

I'm also in NE PA, but I'm booked up through the 2nd week in August.

shoot.... that kinda blew that plan. if it was any consolation, it was only 5 minutes or so for me....

sometimes there are some great finds to be had. A super rare PArker acid etched ribbon overlay came out of there a few years back, to just name one.

nope, way further down east. think turnpike, where 222, 272, and the turnpike all sorta meet. between reading and lancaster...

Just my two cents -- somewhere around Harrisburg. I know where Harrisburg is. biggrin.gif I'm out of town this weekend, but should be around the following ones. I don't want to clash with the DC pen show, but maybe after that if it means more of us could attend?

Not unexpectedly, the remaining summer weekends are a problem for some members who've PMed me.

Sunday is fine for me, but I mention Saturday out of respect for churchgoers who may have a 2-hour plus drive from Somerset, Altoona, Bethlehem or Baltimore (or even the Jersey shore!).

We'll have a door prize of a pair of restored Chilton Quill pens from a generous donor, too. Isn't that nice? JUST KIDDING! Tom, did you faint?

The next meeting will be after labor Day, ya'll, and Saturday still wins most hearts and minds.

Is the same venue okay (or would you prefer the bar at the Hershey Hotel*)?

Fred

*Just kidding.
