When buying a new MB pen I would advise the buyer to keep the reciept.
This will be an added proof the pen is original and not a fake.

I was shocked to see this thread

As now they make FAKE Writers Edition too and there are people that are very happily sell this pen as the real deal.
I bought 2 new MB pens from the FPH and I kept the reciept. If I ever decide to the sell the pen this will help me to show these pens are original and Authentic

In twenty years or so what is the proof that a reciept belong to a pen?

You'll need the warrenty certificate with the filled in dates, numbers, dealer's stamp and so. What do you need the reciept for as everything important is in the warrenty certificate. A reciept just contains the price and perhaps the pen's name - but there is no proof that this reciept belongs to that pen. Or is this different in the US?

Indeed, the receipt for a pen would ordinarly just say it's a receipt for some pen, not some specific pen. It could also itself be faked. I still have the receipts for pens that I bought new, but they have meaning only to me.

The only way to reliably get a good deal on a MB pen that is not being sold by an authorized dealer is to have a trust relationship between buyer and seller (so avoid shady eBay dealers...). It's good that nearly all fakes can be detected by some sleuthing and paying attention to little details.
