Another quick review, this one being Diamine's Monaco Red. With this scan I have made some colour adjustments because it was looking far too pinky.

Hi Carrie,

My experience is different than yours. As a lefty overwriter, I find that Monaco Red, along with several other of the Diamine colors do not dry as quickly as others and I have a terrible smearing problem with my left hand.

Monaco Red is one I really like and do have a bottle of. I like the way it looks when it goes down wet, but have to use it in a dry writing pen that doesn't show the color in it's full glory. Otherwise I can't use it.

Best, Ann

Thanks, Carrie! I'm fascinated by your handwriting, unique and strangely pretty, that just provided a kind of sensual experience as my eyes made their way over the curves, combined with the substantial ink shading. Very cool experience, one that I've never been aware of prior to this. It was sort of like taking a slow motion ride down a twisty water slide. Just wonderful. And thanks for reviewing the Diamine carts, of course; I love Monaco Red and appreciate you taking the time to write your mesmerizingl sample even though you don't have much use for red inks. I use mine in my Marlen Basilea, which writes too wide and skips a bit, and I just have to use it anyway before I get it fixed because it makes this red look soooo good.

Hey, I've never made any claims about the legibility of my handwriting roflmho.gif roflmho.gif

I could read every word just fine. It was just the first time I noticed myself wanting to read each letter, thus the comparison to a twisty waterslide, where in slow motion you would get to appreciate the nuance of every curve. I'm going to read your review on Diamine Mediterranean, a color I was considering recently. bunny01.gif
