Full Version: Demonstrating curiosity
The Fountain Pen Network > Brand Focus > The Pelikan Forum

I had a moment of curiosity as I was contemplating the fact that I have something like twenty-five Pelikans (vintage and modern) even though I never really considered myself a Pelikan collector. I'm not exactly sure how that happened. But anyway,

I have one of the M200 demonstrators with clear dome on top of the cap and the + support inside. Single cap-band is marked W. Germany, so presumably we're looking at 1980s sometime - can someone give me a ballpark on when they made this varietal and how common they are? Were they made to be demonstrators (show them innards), or just something that was pretty and unusual (like the translucents today)?

Clear pens drive me mad. Why don't they make clear ink that doesn't mess 'em up? smile.gif

Thanks!

Hm...does this mean no one knows, no one cares, or I asked a really stupid question? unsure.gif

I don't know but someone who knows might simply not have had a chance to answer yet. Not everybody is as obsessive about checking FPN as I am. smile.gif Also, the folks that probably know, or the one I can think of in particular, runs a business so may just not have had time to check in on the forum yet.

Noodler's Blue Ghost would probably look messy only under blacklight.

I was hoping for a picture and date of the old domed cap top demonstrator here, but none.

It seems that it was until later that the domed top was discontinued, so the West Germany limits it more.
