Hello Sheaffer Aficionados!

I was able to find a nice pencil with a double deco band today. thumbup.gif

Sorry about the photo, I do not have access to my camera and have to take this with my camera phone. I will try to describe the pencil as best as I can.

It measures about 5 9/16". The imprint says:
Sheaffer'S
Made in U.S.A.
Pat.D -78,777

The interesting thing about this is that it has a middle band that matches the pearl and black Radite like the rest of the pencil. I only mention this as it was referenced earlier that David I had only seen double deco bands with black inserts. Just wanted to provide evidence that there is at least one that exists with a matching middle band.

Minutiae, don't ya love it! bunny01.gif

Anyway, does anyone know if Sheaffer made pencils with this band in different sizes?

Respectfully,
Al

Do you mean pencils with different size double band or different size pencil with same band ?

Sheaffer did make different size pencils with this band.

My comment from that other thread indeed is that i'd only seen black between the bands on pencils. Probably i am overdue to review my wee hoard of those pencils. wink.gif

And, i don't know if the black represents an insert or a coating or what.

Nice find, Al!

In fact... i'm not sure i have that size pencil with those bands...

Hi David!

With regards to your previous thread, I only wanted to add to the pool of information out there (at least visible to me). I thought you would get a kick out of new info.

I was curious about other size pencils with the same size bands. I do not remember the size of the bands on the one you had shown me a while ago. Could there be double deco bands of different sizes?

Not sure what I will do with this pencil, but I would be happy for you to take a picture of it when we next meet. thumbup.gif

Hi All,

Per request, here's the double band in another size: a Petite pen and pencil set.

It's hard to see in the photo, but the space between the two bands on the pencil is not solid black. It's mostly black - a function of the random black-and-pearl pattern - but there's definitely pearl in that space as well.

Cheers,

Jon

And it was fun to see, if bit hazy. Will need to see more closely at some point.
