my pelikan (yes, friends, i will upload pictures as soon as i find my camera) was definitely made before the USSR collapsed, as i bought it from the original owner who bought it new in '58, but the inscription says Germany, instead of the West Germany im used to. does that mean it was made in East Germany? or did domestic market products not need to be marked so specifically?

Pelikans from the 1950s and through the 1970s were simply marked Germany. Only in the 1980s did they mark W. Germany.
