Full Version: Anyone have a copper transitional?

I am looking to buy, swap , trade my double jewel with a nice deep imprint for the same pen in a transitional body. I would like to keep my nib and you can keep yours. Or, if anyone has a body only that I can work with let me know. I seem to have three transitionals and the one lone DJ Estie so I think I will try to fill my "one style collection" to the transitionals.

If you have a black, gray, or silver that might need parts like a section, clip or jewel I might be interested in buying it. I don't really need them, and I tend to use my Sheaffers and Parkers more, but I like restoring these Esties. rolleyes.gif

Plus, I have a spare 7 pen wooden case that just happens to match all the colors plus black. roflmho.gif

Well, I found a copper on e-bay... $20.00 BIN so it looks like I am one step closer! Bought that black transitional in the market place yesterday too. Now I just need two easy ones, the silver and gray! thumbup.gif

PS.. if anyone wants a nice copper DJ, drop me a line as mine will go up for sale.

LOL... Sorry about that Adam! I like to look for BIN's as you can find some really good deals like that. I figure that the worst I would have to deal with is a broken body @ the section threads. If the car is trashed I can swap my copper Estie cap onto it. (I will let you know when the pen comes in if I can part with the DJ that I have.) I am not afraid of damaged jewels or loose and broken clips. All these can be repaired with parts pens so I tend to take more chances on auctions.

Although, I did kick myself for buying two pens, did you see that double jewel deluxe that ended last night? Las I saw it had 8 min and was just up to $20.00 What a sweet looking pen! I think it was a push cap too!

Yeah, I thought hard about it but it sold for $67 which is way more than I was interested in paying for it, but I now know to keep my eyes open for deluxes... Thanks for the tip on the large hole dollar with the 3556. Although I'm going to be biting my already non-existent nails to see if it is really NOS. Also the pic is soooo bad that I can't tell if the plating is worn off on the nib.

Yea, I figured it would kick up there in the last few minutes. I really like those deluxe caps, they are nice and solid.

Pleas let me know how that 3556 nib pen comes in. If it is really NOS, it should have a NOS nib. If that is the case, that is a kick your self in the rear-end deal! Good luck! biggrin.gif

The problem is, I'm rereading the listing and wondering if it's just the nib and they stuck a picture of a dollar pen in there by mistake. Now don't get me wrong if it really is NOS then it's still a deal at $40 but... I really, really want a large hole black dollar for my collection... I was outbid on one this evening for $32 which considering condition was still a gamble. I'll let you know if it's what we thought it was or what I'm afraid it is.

Son of a ...... I think you are right!! If you read it that way, it sure looks like it is just a nib! It's still a good deal for the nib like you said, but that is a bummer if they stuck a photo of a pen in the auction where they are just selling a nib! However, I do not see mention of the pen anywhere and it does sound like just the nib.
