I picked up a new pen case, imported from Costa Rico, that I though I would share.

I bought this at a Tinder Box at the local mall, and at $15.00 I paid too much - but when I saw the double-decker divided trays I decided it was worth it. The slots are a bit large for pens - if I built pen-sized trays I could probably get this to hold 30-40 pens in the space of the 20 slots here - but it is a nice little case.

John,

Looks like a nice case and at a good price. You could put a little something inside each tray to cushion and hold the pen - looks like it's the perfect size for that. Nice pics too, btw. Thanks for sharing.

oops - I meant from Honduras.

I probably will line it with felt or something to protect the pens, though the soft wood it is made out of is pretty forgiving.

I've been working on some other cigar-box pen cases that I will have to share when they are done.

You could replace the slots with these:

I remember when the cigar shops would give you the old cigar boxes for free...
Been a long time since I was in one... might have to see what is available at our local (actually only) cigar emporium....

Totally off at a tangent, but I used my Dad's old Cigar boxes to build crystal set radios back in the late 50's early 60's. Put the controls on the lid and the rest in the base with the connecting cables on the hinge side.

I have a wooden pen case on my desk and I lined that with blotting paper to protect the pen. It is soft enough to protect and if it gets ink stains it will absorb it and can easily be changed.

Just a thought,

On a somewhat related note, there is a picture somewhere on the net of a computer built into a pen box laugh.gif

As long as you don't try to light up one of your pens while inebriated.... wink.gif

That looks great John!! I agree that some felt will help protect it as well. I did the same thing for my pens. Went to the local cigar shoppe and found a nice box .Below is what mine looks like!
I picked the felt up for a dollar at the local WallyWorld(Walmart).
