I was taking some pictures of some of the more interesting pieces in my collection and figured I'd post a few.
One is this Sailor Naginata. Pretty much standard issue Naginata except for the wonderful music nib tweaked by Nagahara senior. Oh, yeah, and it's yellow. One of only two pieces made, of which the other is lost. Sailor ran them as prototypes for Levenger, I think, after Levenger did the solid yellow and solid white Profits. I guess the numbers didn't work out and this one proved to be too expensive to make. Plus Levenger got out of the pen business, except for those True Writers and other Levenger branded pieces.
I don't use this one too much, primarily because I'd hate to see something happen to it. So it primarily sits in my pen chest. It's a shame, too, because it's a wonderful writer, very smooth and the music nib gives great line variation. The yellow color is not quite like the yellow used for the 1911/PG pens. Seems just a bit duller. Nice Mandarin color.
Karen at Houndstooth (the US Sailor distributor) really loves it when I show this one off because then she has to field all these questions about how to get one. Sorry, this one is not (and never was) in production. So don't bother Karen about it! Unless you really want to make her day....
