I was shooting the point.

Realized i like the point.

When these were crisp they really did pop.

I could choose to collect the darn things... oh... wait... never mind wink.gif

I don't think I got the point, but a point I would like to point that to me, the point looks like a fine stub..... is it?

To me, this looks like ordinary XF. I'm dumb, probably.

Well yes, what I find so charming about this design is that in fact you see the clip design in fact repeated as a miniature in the nib color scheme. Very nice. I thought it was Moore who also showed features of the clip design repeated in the nib. And there must be more pens who have that design feature, but this arrow in the vacumatic is very explicite.

David, the point is to have the point pointing the other way.

Sometimes the point is a pointing the other way even still.

or yet another way to make your point.

Idunno. Haven't gotten around to writing with it. Just enjoyed the mirror finish to the white mask. Of course it picked up some yellow reflecting- i think- my shirt.

The clean overlay. Was using "point" a bit lightly for the nib, not the iridium in this case.

Nice!

Your shots have been great of late. Did you grab a light box?

Thanks David, all three shots shown were in a light tent, my old setup for imaging. New shots are done with a softbox (Azlo 2'x2' for Nikon speedlight) and shoot thru umbrella. I find that the light tent is just too small and the relections were way too intense for my liking.

With the softbox and brolly I can move them away from the subject and get less specular reflections. Though, the umbrella supports do show in the odd image, may have to get a larger softbox to replace that one and work on a better lighting ratio.

BTW, the burgundy single tone nib was taken at f22 by my Sigma 105mm macro on my D80. I think the other images were taken with my D50 and a 70-300 sigma with macro capability.

Cheers,
Sean

Soooo. Is this a steel nib? Because you know, I still can't get what's so special about this one.
cwnidog
Ah yes, the point's the thing.

A nice clean nib is a joy forever.
jmkeuning
I get it.

Criminy, some days it doesn't pay to post a pic! headsmack.gif hehehehehe.

OK then. Most Vacs with two tone nibs tend to have moderate (or more) wear to the platinum(?) mask. Even if still white and not worn to gold, the white is dull. This one still has verrrrry bright glossy finish.

It's just a nice clean Vac nib smile.gif
