I just repaired a black 1250 with great transparency using the fountainbel cartridge designed by Francis Goosens. I have about 40 vac-fills in my collection, and usually rebuild the barrel end cartridges myself - I enjoy it, but it sure can be a tedious job-- especially when it comes to drilling the things out (if necessary)!

I completed the repair on the above pen in about 20 minutes, start to finish. Francis has designed a great tool for removing the original cartridge that works quite well. The units are well designed, and will basically work forever, and they can be re-sealed without removal. The instructions he provides are thorough and helpful.

The units are a bit pricey at this point, but I'll probably pick up a couple more to do some of my early Triumph Crest models -- its definitely a repair I'll be doing on my better vac fillers.

PS - I'm not on commission for this (haha)
