I'm restoring a 1942 "51" and was surprised to find the inner collar on the filler made of steel (and badly rusted). The clutch ring was also steel, rusted, and very difficult to remove. How common were steel inner collars? I'm sure this was a result of WW2 adn the scarcity of war materials.
