I know all of you have seen the standard red Dip pen boxes from Esterbrook. Finding a box in mint condition is uncommon. Finding a box in mint condition, sealed, is very hard to find. I have acquired a box (not on eBay) in the rarest form of all. It is still sealed in the spider-web wax paper from the factory. Finding a box in this condition is about as rare if not more so than finding a Visumaster in mint condition.

I know its not fountain pen goodness...but for me...its like uncovering the Arc of the covenant Attached are scans of the box and what the nib looks like inside (no I didn't open it! Are you kidding? I actually had another box of the same )

Really, those are rare? I can clearly recall standing in an antique shop in Hattiesburg Miss. where they had 7 or 8 boxes like this still sealrd with the paper tag on the end. I remember seeing it and thinking how cute the 923 was my Aunts birth month and year. It's been 3or 4 years since so i'm sure they are long gone by now.

I have no idea. It was just a shop we stopped at on the road. I only remember it because I found a NOS Sheaffer Snorkel there and the 923 date thing.
