I got my black/green M1000 today from Melpens in Malaysia (an incredible 18 hours after they shipped it to me via FedEx), so I took unboxing pics of my new baby, here:

My M1000 is a monster. Unposted it feels great in my hands and the nib is hands down the best nib I have ever written with.
I will definately be buying 1 or 2 M800s, judging from my M1000 I think the M800 is the perfect size for me.
Don't get me wrong though, I love my M1000 and its not going anywhere, this pen is a keeper

i agree, dr ozzie, writing with the 1000 feels almost effortless (my OB nib is very smooth), but it's more like i'm pushing or painting with the nib than writing with it, like i would with a chinese brush.... i don't think i could really write with it posted; it feels too top-heavy, restricting my stroke below. it really does feel like a sign pen with a nib!

Congratulations! That nib it's HUGE!! Do the OB nib shows some nice line variation? I can't tell from the pic.
Cheers,

Cool pen. May I ask what ink you're using? If I have to make a guess it would be Pelikan BlueBlack. If so, did you photograph it right after writing those words? It's a lot bluer than my Pelikan BB.

yes, it it pelikan blue-black, photographed seconds after the writing. it's also darker than when i use my M800 with a B nib. the M1000 OB nib really lays out a LOT of ink, is why. it's literally very wet.

Very cool, congrats!
Congratulation, the M1000 is a really nice pen!
Any chance to get a closeup and see the variation the OB gives? (if any)

Thank you I'm very curious to see that. Do you always buy oblique nibs or is it your first?

Nice nibs and pen for sure! If you ordering a second oblique I guess you adapted quickly

Does it provide some variation in your writing or is it mostly a comfort thing? If it gives some variations I would be curious to see a scan too

Thanks!
