I have been writing with fountain pens for a long time and use them at work every day.

I do not have a collection, because those I do not use I tend to give away.
I still have a couple of Sheaffers, a Waterman, a Columbus, a Sailor, a Pelikan, a Lamy, and a Nakaya.

I like cobalt blue ink and am currently searching for the perfect brown ink.

I would also like to improve my handwriting, any hints?

I enjoy road racing my 1993 RX-7, rising bicycles, photography, scuba & snorkeling, fine watches, smoking a great cigar, etc, etc, etc.....

Cordially,

Pedro

Greetings, Pedro. Where in Illinois are you located?

I, too enjoy a 'great' cigar, especially those from that little island south of Miami.....
Velma
Welcome! You might want to try Diamine Dark Brown, or Noodler's Kiowa Pecan -- both of those are lovely.

Mr. Handlebar: that is one nice moustache!

I am in Princeton, IL: a small town 60miles east of Iowa on I-80.
Where is Woodstock, IL?

Welcome DrPJM1! Nice to see more people from the Iowa/Illinois area on here. I'm from Muscatine, which is on the Mississippi River just south of the Quad Cities. Hope you enjoy the board here.

Velma:

Thanks for the suggestions.

I am now finishing bottles of Pelikan Brilliant Brown, Waterman Havana Brown and Private Reserve Copperburst. To tell you the truth, I am now mixing the last two and love the results!

RyanL27:

Thank you. Last time at the Quad Cities I was watching the great go-kart races downtown. You can not believe how it feels as those things fly by at 70mph!

I am in the northwest corner of Illinois, about 30 miles east of Rockford.

I understand that the area around Princeton is quite nice.

Closer to Galena, IL?
I love Door County, Wis.

Hi Pedro!

Welcome to the FPN society! And welcome fellow Rotorhead! I spent a long summer once in Zaragoza.

My Dad sudied Medicine in Zaragoza when I was a kid, under Franco's dictatorship.
It was a nice place & we had great times...
What were you doing in Zaragoza?
What rotary car do you enjoy, fellow Rotorhead?
I just spoke with a friend near the Big D about his RX-7...small world!

Hi Pedro, welcome, from the pens you mention you already have a collection, there's no escape now.
Got your e-mail and have replied.

That's right! I forgot the Air Force base in Zaragoza. My uncle retired from the Air Force and married a Spaniard. I was last in Spain in 1983. Were you in the service?

Be very mindful of the rotary engine's oil quantity and quality. I would check it every week and especially after a hard run. Change it often. The RX-8 is a great handling car! Do you autocross?

My RX-7 is set for road courses. Last time out I spent 2 fun-filled days at Indianapolis Raceway Park. 140mph at the top of the front straight breaking to 85-90mph for curve #1. What a blast!!!

Thanks snugglebny!

Well, believe it or not, this is the first year I'll be attending the Chicago Pen Show.

Hi Pedro and welcome to FPN! biggrin.gif

I applaud your use of Waterman Havana Brown; it is a great ink!
I noticed in your intro, you asked for some suggestions on how to improve your handwriting...I have no affiliation to the authors but "Write Now!" by Barbara Getty and Inga Dubay is a book I found to be quite useful. I am sure you can find it on Amazon.com or BarnesandNoble.com.....

Enjoy the site!
