Help please! I have just been sorting through boxes of my parent's stuff in the attic, and found a black Slimfold with a 14K gold number 5 nib. Sadly the nib is damaged. Can anyone advise where I might send it for repair? Thanks Andy

Hi,
Depends on the damage, but likely to be cheaper to pick up one in better condition on ebay unless this has particular sentimental value.

There are plenty of Americans on the FPN who do fountain pen repairs. Contact Richard Binder, Ron Zorn or John Mottishaw and describe the problem to one of them. They all have their own websites.

However as you're located in Lytham I'd recomend you try Pen Museum or The Battersea Pen Home both are English repair specialists.

Thanks for your inputs guys. "When is an heirloom beyond economic repair"? I suspect quite a few people in the FPN have faced this dilemma! I'll speak to the UK businesses and see what they suggest. Cheers Andy
