yeah ive seen them, but im on a schedule thats a little tighter than the two year dry time. how much more does the kiln dried stuff cost?

The pen blanks they sell cost about $5 in lots of 10 and are ready to turn. Its a very light wood, so if you go that route, be careful not to over turn.

you mean the pen blanks are pre dried? because that is what i need.

FYI it is relatively easy and quick to dry pen blank sized wood in a micro wave in a few says

I have quite a bit of old southern yellow pine (VERY dense)! It was salvaged fron the floors of a home constructed in the late 1800's. As best we can calculate from the extremely tight growth rings, the trees were about 350 to 400 years of age when cut. I'm using some of the wood to construct furniture, but will be willing to process some into pen blanks. They turn beautifully. The wood is somewhat dark, and takes a high polish. I also have padauk (very red). mahogany, rosewood, spanish cedar, etc.
