Hello,

I'm considering getting a DaVinci and I was wondering if there was any long time user. I read the review but it wasn't apparent that whether they had been written in the "honeymoon" period of the pen or not.

I'm particularly interested to hear if the retractible nibs mechanism witheld well the test of time and if the pen tends to have increasing feed drying issues with time.

Also how do they feel in hand, can they be used for extended periods?

Thank you in advance smile.gif

I'm not a long time user, but I've had mine for six months, so that's at least more than many. I don't use it every day, but I do keep it in rotation (once a week, on average).

So far, the retractible mechanism works just fine and no increased drying issues.

It's a heavy pen (70 grams), but I don't find it tires my hand out. I like the balance!

I have the cracked ice version with a factory stub nib. The nib tends to dry out between uses and can be a tough starter, guess I need to run some Tanzinite through it. It is a well made, beautiful pen. It is head and shoulders above the Isis that was also a safety pen. It is big and heavy but I do enjoy using it, except the dry, hard starting nib.

Thank you both for the feedback. I guess my worry about balance is cleared but the drying nib seems to be a constant anytime I read something about the DaVinci, I'm not sure I like the idea of a bad starter...

Thanks again smile.gif
