Did Parker ever put gold plating on a sterling 75 with a flat top? Sakura 9999 has two offered. I know she is a shady character and are well advised to stay clear of her but, just wondering if these are possibly legit or not. Item nos. 290241726830 and 300237353563

Hi ANM,

Maybe I can help you out on these two Vermeil 75's that Sakura 9999 has on the bay. Yes Parker did make the Sterling Cisele 75 in both Gold Fill and Gold Plated. These are referred to as Vermeil. The two on auction are the early production, as they both have the small cap band and small arrow clip and are markered Sterling and 14K GF. Some of the pictures are mixed together for these auction, but 290241726830 does not have the correct section and nib for this 75, while 300237353563 does have the correct O reference ring section and 66 nib. The cap, barrel, Tassie and arrow clip are correct for these 75's.
The sellers feedback leaves allot to be desired, but if you can win auction 300237353563 for around $100 or less, this would be a very good price for that Sterling Silver Vermeil 75.
Hope this helps you make your decision. thumbup.gif thumbup.gif

Thank you Francis, that is VERY helpful. I am more interested in tracking "crooked" ebay dealers than buying from them. I just want to learn the 'tricks' they play so I can spot them in other dealers in the future. At present I am watching Sakura, Artin and the Benz collection. Three very different approaches to trying to cheat you out of some extra cash. I did put a $50 bid on the one starting with 29 just so I can see how she uses shill bidders but if I win at that price, I won't complain. I already have a vermeil FP and BP set in box but they are later models and I was not aware that they were making vermeil as early as these.

Well, you can just hope you actually get it after you pay for it.

If $100 is a very good price, how much is a fair price for these?

Thanks,
Steph
