Full Version: Benz's little brother

Unless I'm mistaken, this guy's selling under Benz's tutelage: Check out his auction.

This looks like a Parker Jotter FP, but he's advertising it as Platinum nibbed and gold capped. Is there really such a pen?

This guy isn't exaggerating like a Benz. His claims are out and out fraud. 24 K cap indeed. That is pure gold, too soft to be used for a pen cap. No doubt the nib is the standard SS. If he fools anyone with these claims and they pay something like 80 USD with shipping for this... well I just hope no one does fall for it.

This is the third time I've seen this pen listed.

Hi,

A bit annoying that he is still trying it on when I told him pretty much what the pen was and what I htought it was worth when he offered it to me.

Still hopefully nobody will buy it.

24kt gold is too weak to be used in making usable stuff, though...innit? *shakes head*...I thought false advertising was illegal...

this is not Benz stuff... this one is not protected from the elements!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Again? Sigh.

This guy must be my evil English counterpart. The dark side is very strong with him...

...seriously, though, a platinum nib? A platinum-nibbed pen in a one-off plastic box. Riighhht

Just a follow up - I sent this guy a message and he replied:

QUOTE
the pen is 24ct gold plated, and their is no mention in the listing of the nib being platinum, however initially this was thaught and once checked out it is silver plated although i can get it 24ct gold plated if you wish

If he's got access to a plating facility, that explains the gold cap!

No mention of the nib being platinum?

Maybe he typed the listing with his eyes closed.

The good news is that the auction closed with 0 bids.
