Which of the following Pelikan's do you like better?

M600 Green Striated/Gold

OR

M605 Blue/Rhodium
Paladin
I prefer the 600. Looks more traditional and has the Pelikan look lticaptd.gif

Funny. I prefer the 605 because my M800 looks exactly like the 600 here. That is, I'd go for the colour/finish difference here.
Now, if I didn't have any green striated M at all, I'd probably start off with the 600.
(Yes, I know some folks out here love green striatedness more than anything else, and collect everything Souverän in green striatedness.)

I prefer the classic look of the M600.

Gotta love that M600. I love striated pens to begin with, and the M600 is just luxurious among striated pens.

Best,

Out of the two mentioned I have the 605 and I love it.But if (rather than when) I am going to get a M800(which I consider to be the true flagship of the brand) it will be in the Green Striated/Gold finish. The Pelikan classic. cloud9.gif

I can second this.

I prefer the M600; the green stripes is a classic. Others may find it boring.

I have 2 M600: one green and one red. For some reason the red one has grown on me and it's inked and one of my regular pens.

I prefer the M600.

I generally dislike gold trims, Pelikan is just about th only brand where I would prefer the gold trims. They do it so tastefully.

My vote is on the M600

Unless you found a blue one with silver trim
JayLo
M605 Blue/Rhodium for the great depth of color.
nolagraph
I like the M605, but mostly because I'm a sucker for silver trim. rolleyes.gif
JFT
I prefer Pelikan striated look in general except for this one wink.gif So between the two you asked clearly the green one. Of the striated versions the green sure looks more vintage but I prefer the red and blue versions; the red with gold trim and the blue with rhodium trim.

M605

I am a sucker for blue pens.

I have never much cared for any pen with a striated pattern and of all the striped pens that Pelikan makes, I like the green one the least. It is so uninteresting, so common a color, boring. So then I guess I like the blue one better, but it does not have much of a wow factor for me either. White metal on pens reminds me of all those el cheapo vintage pens from yesteryear.

Of the two offered I prefer the M605.

I'd really prefer a M600 or M800 in Red.

Likewise; for my taste, the best pen-look ever (though I prefer the shape of one of its predecessors, the 140).

I like the 605 better

I like inks to match my pens. As I use more blue inks than green inks, I'd prefer the 605.
Dr Ozzie
At least you guys get a wide varity with the M600. WHen I bougt my M1000 I only had two choices, black or green-black crybaby.gif crybaby.gif

I wish they had the M1000 in blue and red too!
Tricia
If you're asking about the looks of the pen only, I'd say it's a toss up. I have both the M605 and the M600, though in red, and like them both. However, the M605 came from Farhney's and has been one of my smoothest writers from the moment I took it out of its box. The M600 is less smooth, but it will soon have a Binder stub nib on it, so they will probably get equal love from that moment on. cool.gif
lapis
Tricia, you know of course that that has nothing to do with the model M600 vs M605).
If you did a wet run with 5 M600s and with 5 M605s, you'd see up to 10 different nib qualities, all in regard to smoothness and wetness.
Tricia
True, lapis, but if I like the look of a pen, the nib is the part that makes me reach for it or not, so - for me - that's as important as the aesthetics. And the OP asked which one is liked best, not which one is most aesthetically pleasing, hence my post. biggrin.gif (Of course, it's always possible I misinterpreted the question.)

If I was just wanting the pen to display on my desk, most of my regular Pelikans probably wouldn't even be in the running. (No offense to anyone.) Oh - I'm wrong! I just glanced at my desk and saw that gorgeous White Tortoise... but that wasn't in the original question... and it probably wouldn't be considered a 'regular' Pelikan anyway.

I will say that my striped M600 seems to have more depth to it than the M605, which I ascribe to the M605's somewhat flat blue finish. I still reach for the M605 more often, though, because of that sweet nib. (It's a staple in my pen wrap.)

pakmanpony
I just love the 400, 600, and 800 striped pens they look elegant to me, blue is my favorite. I don't care that much for the look of the 605 looks like just another plastic pen. Now the 625 that's another story all together......
xmattxyzx
I really wish the 200 came in the stripes rather than the ugly marble pattern. Are the black Pelikans (above the 200) popular? I've never seen one or heard anyone talk about it.
yachtsilverswan
Nothing quite says Pelikan like the green striated, black, and gold Sovereign Series.

I particularly like the inverted color scheme of the companion ballpoint (green striated top over black barrel).
Garageboy
I like both and will get a green M800
That blue is intense

Bisquitlips
The M600 Green Striated/Gold. No doubt!
SteveH
600, the 605 looks too generic.

My vote is for the M600 Green Striated/Gold classic!

I have the blue 605 in M--bought it from a fellow member of the FPN. I like it as I prefer pens with silver fixtures. But, I originally had a green striated 600 that I purchased in Germany. It was stolen or lost at a conference. The plain blue 605 was basically a less expensive replacement for my 600. Though I prefer silver, I have to say the green striated to me looks is the classic Pelikan. For a pen with gold fixtures, I believe the Pelikan green striated is one of the classiest looking pens. If I were really into Pelikans, I'd go for the green striated 600.
