I am surprised it lasted as long as 6 minutes! crybaby.gif

The Visconti is very nice, but I think I'm going to hold out for an Opera Master. Besides, I've never written w/ an oblique nib.
Vicary
The Visconti Oblique Stub is a great nib. I have several, and they're all crisp, clean writers that deliver a good amount of line variation. But at this price probably not a starter oblique!

Oblique nibs are very catching Tony - I strongly recommend trying one - but then - the rest of them get boring - except for maybe Italics. (IMHO) smile.gif

I think I will. It may be best to try something inexpensive first to see if I like them. Any suggestions?

You can order a ob nib from Binder for $50. If you don't have a pelikan body, you can buy a 200 body off of him for $50 as well.

Yes, I second the idea - please try a 0.9 mm cursive Italic from Mr. Binder if you like medium width nibs. If your tastes run on the broader side - then 1.1 it is. Now - cursive Italics are easier to write with - but sharp Italics give more line variation and require controlling your pen better. If you stick around on the board - these nibs come up for sale - about 45 dollas shipped. Most users here have a Pelikan 200 series body or that also can be had here.

Now about the writing itself - the broader the nib - the better the line variation - the harder the pen control (meaning using it for your daily writing). However if your pen's writing does not distinguish itself from that of a ball pen - then it is a waste of time and money (IMHO).

The Dupont Purple Diamond head has sold. Thanks! The oblique stub nibbed Visconti is still available! And the Rotring too....

I've reduced the prices on the two remaining pens. The Visconti is now $385 and the Rotring is now $65.

best,
Doug
