Hello,

For my first topic, I would ask you if somebody knows what model of pen is my last purchase:

It is a 4,7 inches pen without any logo, so I'm not sure if it's a Pelikan. But I think it is.

Sorry for my bad english, I'm a poor french collector and french people have some difficulties to learn languages happyberet.gif

thanks by advance!
Dr Ozzie
The clip is not a Pelikan clip and I haven't seen that pattern ever in any Pelikan.

You may perhaps have an Eastern European copy? I know the commies (USSR and Satelite States) made cheap copies of the "Evil Imperialist Capitalist Luxuries" for the masses, including copies of German FPs.

Hope you find out more.

Thank you for this information. Actually I did'nt find any cap with only one band before. I thought it could have been broken.

If it was a "soviet" copy of a german Pen, it would be very funny. I like history and these kind of stories.

Don't worry I'm not crazy, and I'm not happy to buy a false Pelikan. But the pen did'nt cost a lot of money... less than 5 euros... so it's was very cheap and it may confirm your idea.

Just out of interest: how does it write?

Hmmm. The fountain writes thin but is a little bit hard.

It is really common to see Pelikan copies, not just from Eastern Europe or Soviet Russia, but from Germany itself. I have several dozen of these in my various parts boxes.

It's those small discoveries that make life so interesting.

No need to apologize! Your English is great. And we American's can't learn languages at all, so you're infinitely far ahead.
