Help me out here, what is a ribbed black eight ball desk base? The usual DB 116 is what comes to mind but where are the ribs?

Ahhh THAT base. It would be a DB-113 if memory serves correct. That one is a rather hard base to find. Sort of a DB-112 on steroids or the off-spring of a 112 and 114. I've seen few, all seem to be black. The DB-12 is essentially the same as the later DB-116. We have had a few discussions of the model numbers used for what we call the 8-ball but I don't remember the consensus.

There is also the very cool DB-111. Only seen one or two of those and all were black as well. Mine is chipped but on the back so it looks fine on the shelf. I guess we should start a Thread of Desk Bases in the Estie Forum...

Bump, still looking... Specifically I need a 112, 113 or 114 in pastel blue. A mint or near mint hockey puck for a dipless pen, any color. And finally 113s in colors other than black...

The light blue bases don't come along that often. One of the more difficult to find colors. Most likely only going to find it the more common 8 make that 2-ball configuration.

I'll keep an eye open for you. Do you have the matching pastel pen barrel?

Yes I do! In fact not only is it a matching pen; it has a matching pastel blue section... This is the only one that I have seen with a matching section.
