Hi all,
I've just got a new M400 and was wondering it anyone has any suggestions about breaking in a pen such as this. Just write with it as I normally would, or are there other tricks of the trade I might not know about. Also, does anyone have any recommendations as to ink. The pen's a fine nib and I'm using the Pelikan ink right now, though I'm considering switching to Noodler's black .
Thanks in advance.

I'd first recommend flushing it. Many recommend a very dilute ammonia solution or detergent solution. After that, there's no need for anything else if it writes well.

Some suggest flushing the pen before you use it.
I do this with vintage pens but brand new pens I simply fill with ink and give it a try. If they work flawless, great. If there are problems like skipping or ink flow issues I flush or soak a new pen.

I've never flushed any of my new Pelikans before use and they have all worked perfectly from the start, minus a scratchy nib i had in one (but that has nothing to do with flushing)
