Hi, all, and welcome to a gotta raise cash sale. The following is part of the huge yard-sale load, plus some personal thinning and recent in-the-wild finds. As I got the stuff relatively cheaply, I’m keeping prices to a minimum. Some very unusual, interesting, collectible and even fun things. First definite “I want it” gets it. Paypal is cool. All prices exclusive of postage. Please forgive any poor pics; Ansel Adams I ain’t! All questions are welcome, and thanks for looking.

Here we go, and remember… THIRD-TIERS NEED LOVE, TOO!!!

Here we go...

1) Like-new 1980s or 90s Sheaffer pen folder in red vinyl with brass corners. Measures 9” X 6 ½” and opens horizontally. Interior is black sueded fabric with a long horizontal pocket on one side, apparently made to place pens in, clipped to it. Nice piece of Sheaffer ephemera! Have several, $9 each.

2) 1970s Sheaffer school pen, transparent lined chrome-capped model with steel Sheaffer M nib, Cartridge fill. Mint on original card with 7 Skrip cartridges and $1 price tag!! Would look amazing framed! $15

3) Sheaffer No-Nonsense pen in dark blue with chrome furniture and F nib, mint on slightly-creased original card with 2 cartridges. Don’t know if these are the screw-top variety for certain, but judging by the looks and age (1970s), I’d guess they are. Very cool. $15

4) Same as #3, but in red. $15

5) German-made Senator FP/BP set. Both are what looks like matte-finish black abs plastic or fiber with brushed aluminum caps. FP is C/C fill with a GP nib that looks like a M. BP is a retractible. FP comes with cartridge, BP with extra refill. Nice set, reminiscent of a Lamy 2000. Inoriginal hard plastic box, looks new and uninked. $22

6) Alain Gauthier FP, all metal in beautiful blue marble lacquer finish with GP clip and furnishings. C/C fill, comes with cartridge. Large Iridium-point GP nib that looks like a M. Nice substantial pen and smooth writer. Likely German-made. In original wood box. $20

7) Eversharp/Parker Big E writing set in turquoise. Includes FP and MP, 6 cartridges, 2 erasers and instructions. Looks unused or very lightly used. In original gift box. Nice! $23

8) Rare find: Entire counter display unit of 12 Venus “Canadian” FPs, circa 1950s. All pens have chromed steel clips, bands and levers, and GP American 6 nibs. They’re screw-tops, and all I tested (about 5) draw and expel water perfectly! There are 3 black, 2 green, 3 blue, 2 red, and 2 grey, all new and unlinked. What’s even more interesting is that while the unit notes Venus Pencil Co in Toronto, the levers are all marked “Made in USA.” Again, would look killer in a shadow-box or sitting on a case! $80

9)SOLD 4-hole knock-out block of hard maple with steel top plate, 4 rods. Very similar to what Pendemonium sells. Used, but in decent shape. How about $16?

10) Elgin FP/BP/MP set with goldtonbe metal caps and blue pearl barrels. FP has GP lever and band, GP Veri Smooth nib that looks like a M, and an ultra-cool transparent section and translucent feed! Draws/expels some water. BP is retractible, MP works. Looks unused. In original box. Very cool! $20

11) SOLD Very cool modernistic all-metal FP/BP set in brushed silver metal with knurled areas and Jetsons-looking clips. FP is a C/C fill, and has a steel IPG nib that looks like a M. Unmarked, but I’d guess almost certainly German. Super set, unused, in original box. $20.

12) SOLD Sheaffer school pen, mint in original box. Transparent “demonstrator” version, F steel Sheaffer nib, with 2 cartridges. Nice! $10

13) 1950s Eversharp BP set in black plastic. The larger pen has a GP clip and band and is a clip-activated retractible. The smaller purse/vest pen is clipless and features a small side button that retracts the point. Unused in original box. Unusual Eversharp collectible. $18

14) Esterbrook J-style FP/MP set in black celluloid. FP features chromed steel spade lever, bands and clip, “target” jewels, and an Estie 2668 nib. Draws/expels water. MP also seems to be working. Both have ad imprint of Sunny Homes Construction in Midlothian. In original box with instructions. Nice!! $35

OK; that’s it for this round. Thanks for looking, and check out the other 2 posts!

Arn, how does the iridium look on that Senator? Would that nib be a pretty good candidate for grinding out to a stub or something of that ilk? That's a sweet-lookin' set, for sure, and from a pretty respected name!

Ryan:

Sorry: missed your question! Dunno if it would be a good grinding candidate. Possibly; the iridium is fairly substantial. And I agree; Senators are woefully underappreciated pens!!
