This might seem like a simple problem, but I just got my first Vanishing Point, and I can't remove the converter. I don't see any tabs or buttons that might release it. I have tried forcing with quite a bit of strength both straight out and twisting. I'm actually surprised I havn't broken it, so I figured I better just put the thing down and try to get some advice before I do. I of course read the manual and I can't find anything special about removing the converter. Anyone have any advice?

I havn't yet tried to put all my strength into it, nor have I tried pliers, but I will appeal to you guys before I attempt either method.

I had the same trouble with mine. Its just a tight fit. I finally got the converter loose by gently pushing it side to side while pulling out.

Ok thanks, I got it. I wasn't sure how easily one can damage these things so I got nervous, but I was able to yank it out.

You have inspired me to finally try getting mine out.

You might want to get a few more fleas to help you out there, bud. roflmho.gif

Hey, it's bad enough being a flightless, parasitic insect without the mocking. I'm telling my friends.

Hello,
This is only my 2nd post...so I am VERY new to this BB.
I have the EXACT same problem. My Pilot vp is not new , but I can hardly "inhale " ink into the nib...
So , I was wishing to remove the Convertor, and use cartridges......ahhhhhhh welllll...I have sliced thin strips of first layer skin off of my right index finger....trying to wiggle, twist, pull...and whatever else I am doing all to no avail. I have "punished it" in a submerged baggie with about a cup of plain cool tap water, and a "breath" of about a half a drop of windex. It may stay there a few hrs.
Thoughts of bashing the stupid thing with a hammer has entered my thoughts. Any other ideas?
Thanks.. by the way.........this is a wonderful place.

May the fleas of a thousand camels infest your bedsheets roflmho.gif . They may be flightless, but those suckers sure can jump.

Cheers,
