Full Version: Finally caught "The Big One"

I finally did it, after a year of hesitating I bought the big one, the M1000. I shall be holding it in my hands in one week. I hope its not too big for my taste, normally I write with vintage pens which tend to be quite small and light by today's standards. However, how can I not get the "Flag Pen" for my favorite Pen Maker in the World?" thumbup.gif

It's the green stripped M1000. I'll get it about the same time am getting my "new" 1932 Jade Green Sheaffer Slender Balance with excellent color preservation. Two green pens, can't wait!!!

I had an M1000 for about a year a few years ago. Wonderfully balanced. Wonderful writer. Not too big

. . . . . . . . . BUT . . . . . . . (there's always a BUT, isn't there? )

I found that the huge nib made me hold the pen at a weirdly shallow angle and therefore it wasn't for me. Note: I had to exchange the M nib for a F, then again for an EF, as flow was far too wet for me with a M or F.

Good luck,

Update:

In order to make room for this and the other pens I have bought in the past week I will be selling either tonoght or tomorrow night in the forum Marketplace several vintage flex and semiflex pens including a late 1940's-1952 Pelikan 100N in Extra-fine to Excellent condition with a very flexible medium nib thats quite a wet and smooth writer. So keep your eyes open, this pen has no defects and a recently replaced cork (draws ink well) and a very clean body. Its going to be priced to sell!!! . Don't say I didn't warn you thumbup.gif

Excellent! Be sure to give a review, I've been eyeing one myself but just can't justify it as a little rookie. clap1.gif

Great! Congrats too!!

I have an M800. My real workhorse although a bit too big for my T-shirt pocket. That's where my M215 comes in. Soon I'll buy a 320 for the simple reason that it's even smaller (and looks really neat too IMO.
But to get back to your new pen here: Please DO write a review, comparing among other things weight and balance (at least with the M1000).
