I'm wondering if anyone has a Pelikan Epoch, and how you'd rate it? I haven't found much in the way of description and assume the nib is steel. I both like and dislike the styling, but lately I find myself looking at metal pens... maybe as a change from celluloids?

I don't care for the fact that this one only takes cartridges, but at least pelikan carts. come in a decent range of colors. I'd enjoy reading any comments.

While I don't own one, here are some facts:

The 360 models (green/black, blue/black, champagne/silver) have steel nibs.

The 361 (alum./silver) and 362 (silver/black) models have 14k gold nibs.

I've read, that both steel and gold nibs are nails.

In North America at least, also EF nibs are available, but not so in Europe. The nibs are screw in (new kind)

Furthermore, it is inofficially possible to use converters, you just have to fill them outside of the pen. Also long int. carts (Waterman) may fit, you have to find out, if you need in some cases some sort of spacer to achieve a tight fit at the feed side.

P361, this one has actually a rippled barrel surface and looks best INHO (pic by Pelikan)

Thanks for the input -- the one you picture is also the one I like best. I have a couple of nails in my collection & it all just depends on what I'm doing when it comes to preference.

I'm also looking at the Lamy studios & 2000s. Since I don't have extra $$ just now, I have plenty of time to gawk! biggrin.gif

I have a D360, the pencil, and the feel of the material is great and could not be happier with the one and only pencil that I'll get.
