There's a Pro Gear in yellow on eBay, seller Sakura_Zeppelin. It's not a mini, and it has all the markings of the new Pro Gear Colors in yellow (black tips, same 21k nib) EXCEPT in this pic it seems to have gold trim. I would love to bid on this, but I don't want gold trim. Is there a special Japanese version of this pen that comes in gold trim, or is this some older model? Any info would be appreciated. I e-mailed the seller yesterday and haven't gotten a response back yet. Thanks.

Edit: I don't think it works if you click on "site" and I don't know how to fix it. Sorry.

If it is this special issue by Bun'eido, then I believe it is only avaiilable in gold trim: http://www.buneido.com/brand/SAILOR/WPS0001.htm
Called the 'yuzu' (after the Japanese citron), it is built around the Sailor Pro Gear with a special 21K nib by Nagahara. Selling for 28,000 (less than $280 at today's exchange rate), Bun'eido sold out the pen very quickly.

Thanks so much, Chibimie. The pen I'm looking at doesn't come with a box like this and no bottle of ink that I can see, but it helps to know that there are other models out there to confuse me! unsure.gif I don't know Sailor's history of Pro Gear or Sapporo models beyond what I've gathered on FPN and sellers' web sites. The eBay seller still hasn't answered my e-mail from two days ago, so I appreciate your info, especially as it may be all I'm going to get.

Bananafish
It appears to be the Sailor PG Slim version, a/k/a Sapporo. Mine came with the regular 14kt nib; haven't seen one in silver trim yet, but don't let me know if you do wink.gif

Thanks, Bananafish, that helps a lot. thumbup.gif My appreciation of gold trim is extremely limited; otherwise I'd go ahead and bid away. As it is, I think I'm going to spring for one of the new PGs in either yellow or orange with silver trim.

Not at all. You made a good choice too; the full-sized has a chunkier grip - more to fondle. Although I must say the gold trim is not bad on the bright yellow tongue.gif
I think Pam Braun has some good prices going. Hope you enjoy yours!
