I just scored a brand new Pelikan 200 Burgundy Old Style and have a choice of nibs...
I am considering either a OM or OB nib.... is the OB really all that heavy or would it make a good daily writer...
Or should I get the OM... I already have another one with one of Richard's .7 cursive italics, but could not pass up this pen at the price I got it...
I am going to have to make this decision withing the next 24 hours so please HELP..

i'd personally go for the OM - but I'm a fine nib user and use a .6mm or less stub when I can. B's just don't suit my handwriting. They overwhelm it.

My question to you, Tom, is: Why do you want an oblique? Obliques are for people who habitually rotate the pen in the hand; if you don't rotate, then you don't need an oblique. This is especially true with the OM or OB nibs you can get for the M200, because these are not oblique italics, they're just plain obliques. They will give no more line variation than the corresponding straight nibs. Here are a round nib (left) and a plain ordinary oblique like the ones you'd be getting (right).

As usual Richard has answered the question I did no ask
Thank you again Richard for being such a great teacher.
I decided on a Broad nib, because I don't have a pen with a broad nib... and if I don't like it, I can alsway send it to Richard to regrind... TADA
OH BTW.... the fantastic price was $40.00. I could not afford not to buy it...
Well actually I could afford not to buy it... but we all know that constantly kicking ourselves for letting a good deal go is not good for our health... rolleyes.gif rolleyes.gif
