Some hardware in pen kits comes with a satin finish and some with a shiny finish. Is it possible to apply some chemical or substance to the shiny finish in order to transform it into a more satiny look?

depending on the plating... you can attack the surface with acids. The proper way would be getting an abrasive media blasting airbrush, and some real fine glass beads.

Whatever you use, be aware that the plating is VERY thin. You could end up taking it off entirely.

I suppose taking some micromesh sandpaper to the shiny stuff and making it "brushed" may work... but, the plating is very thin. Try it on an interior part of the shiny kit, like on the clip ring, etc.

OK Gail, What did you do now? Why do you want to convert which pen? Let me know and I'll swap the findings for you.
