I have a MB 146 with a cracked barrel (near the brass filler threads). Well the "botique" says send it to Germany - and the rest of the fuu fuu stuff. Any of our professionals got a spare barrel - how much fitted - Please advise - email me here

If you are in the US and the 146 is modern (1980s or later), you can send it to Montblanc repair. They charge about $55 to replace the barrel. You'll need to send the entire pen.

If I will you I will not have the pen repair. That is why I do not like to touch a "M" They crack too easy and the service suck with high price "sometime'. They know the problem but this goes on and on. Gluded up and use it if you can accept Or paid to replace. And the problem will come again (if you are not careful)

I agree with Karl's recommendation. MB service is in the middle of repairing (replacing) the section of my 144.
I brought the pen to a new boutique in my area. They sent it to Bethlehem with instruction to contact me first before doing the repair. This was last weekend; MB called me Wednesday with the total for the repair ($48). Of course, I told them to do it!
But it was nice to know that you knew the price beforehand (and/or could have said no).
