Hi, most info fit in heading so post not needed to be opened and read smile.gif

I am thinking of trying the FA nib ( the one with the sides cut out ) - I wonder if I can pick one up for the Custom 823 I already have but dont use much. (it has a nice Lt. OB custom nib job @ 1 mm) smile.gif

Just how flexible is this FA nib compared to the falcon (as seen in custom 742, and 743s), can it be put in the 823. If so where to buy one.

Thanks for your time and expected help.

The FA nib on a 742 or 743 is a Falcon nib. FA is short for Falcon.

The Falcon Nib is much much more flexible than the nib that comes on the Pilot pen named the Falcon.

If you're familiar with dip pens (or willing to invest two dollars in the experiment), the Falcon pen is about as flexible as a Hunt #512. The Falcon nib from the Custom 742 or 743 is about as flexible as a Brause #361.

The 823 can be found here.

It can take the #15 Falcon nib on a Custom 743, which can be found in the same eBay store.

You can only buy it with the pen.

Believe me, you're not the only one who's trod this ground. smile.gif

PS - two Rs, the first syllable of my name is pronounced and spelled like WEIRD. (Except for the D instead of W)
