Yeah, I know . . . the title is heresy around here to some, but after trying out a bunch, I finally found one that suits me. I snagged it at the Raleigh Pen Show from Bert Heiserman and just wanted to share it with you. It's a 1928 Parker Duofold Senior "Big Red" that's in nice condition. Here are some photos:

Here it is capped:

And uncapped:

And posted (yes, I'm an incurable poster):

The imprint looks nice:

The clip's in good shaped (showing a lot of reflections in the photo):

The knurling is in good shape:

And finally, the business end:

This one's a keeper and I'm thoroughly enjoying it!

The Duofold Srs. have long been a favorite of mine - and the two band cap red ones in particular. Wonderful, and dare I say "majestic" pens? No surprise that they were such popular pens!

I suspect that the Duofolds will be the last ones to ever leave the fold.

Congrats on a great Parker!!! I just rediscovered my Lapis Sr. Duofold Streamlined this week. Ya gotta love those Duofolds!

Ooooooooh mother!!

That makes my two-band Big Red '28 Duofold look like junk!...But I still love it. And I know you will, too. They're great pens! Many congratulations on such a wonderful acquisition!

I can't get over how lucky you are, Southpaw, to own such a gem...*sobs* Lucky bastard...

I wish I knew how to take great photos like that, too...I can't take photos to save my life.

Oh! That's a beauty! Use it in good health.

Bert is the best, isn't he? That's why I enjoy going to Pen Haven to visit. He's made whole a bunch of nibs that I thought were gone forever.

On another matter, Southpaw, isn't about time you learned about Parkers that are probably twice as old as you are? wink.gif

A great pen - thank you very much for the great shots of it.

Actually, this is far from the first Parker I've tried - "old" or "new." It's just the first one that "clicked" with me. wink.gif

Thanks for all the comments, and yes, Bert was superb!

Nice - I have one in my pocket as a daily writer (bit worn tho and its been through the wash and tumbledry cycle too) I have a NIB one also that won't be written with ;-)

Just wait, it won't be leaving your rotation any time soon, Duofolds beg to be written with all the time. Great find, that pen is nearly perfect.
