Hi there! There's nothing like a good forum, and it's good to see so many posts on so many topics from so many places in the world. I'm just getting back into using FPs every day, and boy did I miss them. My first was a temperamental Cross Century in the early 90's. It was a gift from my parents, and although it stained my hands regularly and clogged repeatedly, I did love the way it wrote. I have since lost it somewhere, hopefully in the house.
Years ago I used a rapidograph to draw and write with, and believe me if you aren't familiar with them, just about any fountain pen is a totally reliable workhorse compared to those. I still have a few tiny dot "tattoos" I gave myself by dropping my 3x0 on my bare foot or accidentally stabbing my hand. And they always leaked, I don't care what brand I used.
Anyway, I appreciate all the information and help in here, and it's good to be a solid FP user again. I look forward to catching up on a lot of topics. Nice to meet all of you!

Thanks for warm welcomes, both of you! I have already received good advice from the Cross forum--it pays to tap good minds. I do look forward to posting more and more. It seems like there's nothing that somebody doesn't know about fountain pens. . . AND ink.

Welcome to FPN, Sharkle!

How did you come up with your moniker (username), if I may ask?

Hi! Thanks for the welcome! Sharkle was the nickname of an old roommate of my brother's; it was actually Sharkleberry. Now one of my cat's name is Sharkleberry. It's a name that's easy to remember, but not so common as to be confused with other's names. Good for a forum, I guess. Thanks for asking, I always thought it was a fun nickname.
