One of my favorite Japanese pen companies from the 1950s is Platon. They were famous for thier celluloid pens and the picture below is of one of their better models. This one is in clear blue. Note the sticker - Y500. This was a higher price than for what they sold makie pens of the same size. How incredible it is that clear plastic could sell for more than an artists time. I've heard that some of the makie artists they hired were ex- or under-employed Pilot people. Platon closed their doors in 1953, so it might be possible as during this era work was scarce and money tight.

Anyway. Just another of the wonderful vintage Japanese pens out there..

Hey Guys,

No Platon was not connected to Parker. The Japanese company Arabian made pen parts for other companies and some of these were Parker Style arrow clips. I would wager that Platon bought these clips instead of making their own. The Japanese were never shy about borrowing designs or trademarks.

Below are some more images of Platon pens that I have. As Stan said they made some very interesting pens. The oldest one I have seen is a black chased hard rubber from the mid 1920's.
